Hudson, New York

Located two hours north of Manhattan, Hudson was a bustling major river port in the 19th century. The city of Hudson eventually became the third official port of entry to the United States. Hudson prospered for a century until the economy and the city began to decline and continued to do so throughout most of the 20th century. In the late 1980’s a resurgence occurred and interest in Hudson as a destination for fine antiques began to escalate.

Today, Hudson boasts a wonderful downtown shopping area with one-of-a-kind boutiques, art galleries, cafes, restaurants and yes, numerous fine antique shops. Also located here is the American Museum of Firefighting and Olana, the Persian style residence of famed Hudson River artist Frederic Edwin Church. Within close proximity of Hudson are a host of activities and attractions throughout Columbia County and the Catskill Region including golfing, horseback riding, hiking, skiing, boating, and river cruises.
